Prof. Toyin Falola

Prof. Toyin Falola is a Nigerian historian and professor of African Studies. Falola is a Fellow of the Historical Society of Nigeria and of the Nigerian Academy of Letters, and has served as the president of the African Studies Association. He is currently the Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Chair in the Humanities at the University of Texas at Austin

High Chief Ifayemi Osundagbonu Elebuibon

High Chief Ifayemi Osundagbonu Elebuibon is the Artist-in-Residence at the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding, Osogbo. He is a Yoruba and Nigerian writer, poet, author, linguist, and a world-famous Ifa priest. Born in 1947 in Osogbo, Elebuibon comes from a long line of hunters, priests, herbalists, and warriors. His father was claimed to be a descendant of the legendary warrior Olutimehin, one of the founders of the city of Osogbo. His mother was born into a family of priests who worshipped Oya and Ifa. The title “Araba” is given to the chief Ifa priest of Osogbo, and this title was held by his maternal grandfather, Kehinde Adeyemi Awoniyi, longest serving Araba of Osogbo.

Prof. Karin Barber

Prof. Karin Barber is a British cultural anthropologist and academic, who specialises in the Yoruba-speaking area of Nigeria. From 1999 to 2017, she was Professor of African Cultural Anthropology at the University of Birmingham

She is currently the Coordinator of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) Oyo State chapter, Internal Auditor of the Western zone of FTAN, which comprises six states.

Rotiba Bunmi Funmilayo

Rotiba Bunmi Funmilayo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Lagos State University. She is a Chartered Member of Nigerian Institute of Personnel Management (NIM).

She was crowned Erelu Asa of Nigeria for her devotion to preserving and promoting Yoruba and Nigeria cultural values. She is a proud recipient of over 200 honorary awards and several chieftaincy titles; the endless list include: Erelu Asa by Orangun of Ila, Erelu Kiriji at Imesi, Top 100 Tourism Personalities in West Africa, Best 100 Tour Operators by Africa Travel, Ambassador to the State of Osun on Karele Oodua, Distinguished Woman of the Year by Afe Babalola. Ambassador of Culture and Tourism, Ondo State, 60 most influential personalities in Ibadan, Oyo State and Leadership Honour from Nigerian National Cooperative Society in the year 2018, among others. She is the founder of Imperial House of Culture which is based in Ibadan, Oyo State. Also, in January 2022, she was appointed as the Country Director of Tourism of the Asia Africa Chamber of Commerce.

Prof. Mrs Oyeronke Olademo, is a Professor of Comparative Religious Studies at the Department of Religions, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria

ABDULBASIT OLALEKAN ABUBAKAR

Abdulbasit Olalekan Abubakar is a lecturer at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Osun State.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Studies from Osun State University, Osogbo, and a and Masters of Arts degree from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, in 2016 and 2020 respectively. Abdulbasit is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the Department of History and International Studies, University of Ibadan. Abubakar is interested in researches bothering on African traditional Arts, Political and Social Institutions, Intergroup Relations, and Hometowns Associations. Some of his works around the aforesaid themes have been presented at learned Conferences and Seminars overtime.

Abulbasit has worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding, a UNESCO Category II Institute located in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.

He is also a regular guest speaker at academic events with crux on History, Culture and Arts of the African Peoples. Since January 2022, he has been coordinating the CBCIU bimonthly Seminar Series; an intellectual hub where scholars from various disciplines share and exchange ideas on various topics of interest to the Centre.
