A cross section of participants at the one day workshop on NGOs and cultural institution affiliated to UNESCO.
The workshop which took place on Monday, 7 December, 2020 was organized to synergize and chart
the way forward for development of Nigeria's intangible cultural heritage (ICH)
under the auspices of CBCIU. The workshop held at the seminar hall of the centre, had guest speakers and resource persons from the cultural sector,
MDAs and NGOs who identified the diverse challenges,
successes and prospects in relation to policy formulation and implementation on the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).

Prof. Micheal Omolewa, a member of board of trustees of the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding , Distinguished Professor of Adult Education and Emeritus Professor of the University of Ibadan speaks on Nigeria's role at UNESCO. He identified the ups and downs that eventually led to Nigeria's inscription of the Osun Osogbo as a world Heritage site. Speaking on the topic, Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in Nigeria.
Mr Augustus B. Ajibola, a member of board of trustees, CBCIU and Director of Entertainment and creative services in the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture.
Professor Sunday Idodo, the General Manager/CEO of the National Theatre Lagos.
Mrs.Victoria Osuagwu who represented the Director General of National commission for museum and monuments (NCMM), Professor Abba Isa Tijani .
The Executive Secretary, Centre for Peace and Poverty Reduction (CEPPER), University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Dr. Ani Casimir.
Mr. Joseph Ogieriakhi of West Africa Coalition for Indigenous Peoples' Rights (WACIPR).
Some of the guests who attended the workshop include members of board of trustees of CBCIU, Chief Jimoh Buraimo, Chief Muraina Oyelami, Emeritus Prof. Michael Omolewa, Mr Augustus B. Ajibola. Others include owner of Afin Ilu, Prince Laoye, CEO Genesis Arts Gallery, Mr. Yinka Fabayo, culture promoter, Erelu Funmi Rotiba.
The Executive Director of CBCIU, Prof. Siyan Oyeweso expresses his deep appreciation to all participants for their inputs and creative responses to the issues raised at the workshop. The workshop concluded with a communique that the organizers promised to forward to the necessary quarters in due course.
